For many years I have wondered what the team at MMAL had in the works for the never completed PS41L?
We know that it was intended to be a premium vehicle to be sold above the 380,
We know it had a longer wheel base.
We know that it was going to have an export market likely to have been the US.
What I wish to know is:
- What engine and transmission were intended, eg 6G75 MIVEC, 8A80 4.5L V8?
- How much more development work was needed?
- How much more expensive than 380 was it going to be?
- Was AWD an option?
- Was it going to have a very different front and rear ends or similar to 380?
- Was it coded as PS41L or was it some other 40 series number eg, 41 denotes sedan, 42 pillarless sedan eg TE-TW magna, 45 wagon, and 46 pillarless wagon eg TE-TW?
Any other insights are of interests. Moderator please fell free to move this if it is placed in the incorrect section.

the PS41L chassis was also going to be the platform for the Merc C-class as well
When Daimler-Chrysler pulled out of MMC so did the project

This makes sense. The exterior body styling, had it followed the Galant Grunder, would then have been consistent with Mitsubishi's previous up-spec models like the Verada. Extended length bumpers and some visual tweaks all while remaining essentially the same body underneath, like so:

Grunder has the best interior of all 3 galants too
looking at the Grunder it would have followed the TL/TW design language with the headlighes and front quarter design
so glad they did not do that

I like the Grunder. Good looking car.
Too bad about the 2.4L four cylinder... Maybe when I win the lottery I'll bring one here with the 3.8 MIVEC. :woot:

Taiwan 380 equivalent
galant program was in these 3 territories
however MMAL did get to export some 380s to Taiwan for the local police
