I want to get a 380 leather steering wheel on my VR-X. Can it be a straight swap or will i lose cruise control? Or is it not possible to swap from a TJ to a 380 steering wheel?

pretty sure the only guy in the world who has done this is madmagna ,ive asked the question as did many others but no response , good luck anyways.

haha yeh if i knew half of what that says, although it is probably simple i would do it.

Bah, is simple

I used the cruise switch from the third gen wheel, it screws straight in, there is a slight difference in the wiring on teh 380 in so far as the 380 gets its earth for the switch from teh loom where as the third gen gets it from a wire on the steering wheel frame.

The clock spring is where you need to be careful, the 380 uses a slightly different plug arrangement, I used the plug from the 380 clock spring and put that onto the third gen clock spring so plugs now match up etc etc

Took it for the first drive tonight, will take a bit of getting used to having the thinner steering wheel again but other than that it looks real nice. Only thing I ahve to work out now is what to use those buttons on the back of the wheel for (thinks if I had a tippy could have my own version of a paddel shift hmmmm)
