Just keen to find out if all 3rd gen P/S racks are the same?

Mine has HUUUGE play in it and needs replacing. Is it okay to look for one from a 3.5, I.E 3.0 interchangeable with 3.5 or from a totally different model, I.E - TE interchangable with TJ??

Also, if the above question finds the appropriate answer, would I be able to use a 3.0 P/S pump with a 3.5 Rack?

AFAIK they are all interchangeable but the did change them slightly from the TJ ralliart onwards, so you want to find a nice late model 3rd gen rack and/or if your steering is so lose, could be your tie rods which is cheapr to change and see if that fixes your problem first.

The AWD racks are known not to be physically interchangeable with FWD racks. The TL/TW racks have different valving and are considered a desirable upgrade, but whether they'll work with your pump is not something I can answer.

AWD and FWD racks can not be interchanged

The FWD racks are the same bolt up from TE to TW however the TL onwards are a tighter rack similar to the Ralliart. I have one of these in my TE and has made it a different car to drive all together
