Just a quick question, what is the tread size for engine oil plug on 3rd gen

Same for auto box?

Engine Oil sump plug is 24mm. Not sure about auto-trans. Was a thread a month or two back, where someone had trouble locating the trans drain plug - maybe size was mentioned in that thread?

edit: My apologies, didn't focus on thread of the plug - just assumed that OP wanted to know which socket to get for the job!

Sorry I have no idea.
The sump plug part number I got from the parts list forum and then I just googled for an aftermarket equivalent to find the thread specs.
I do have a Mitsubishi general market parts program but not the Aust market one and the number matches Sometimes in the parts info they have size and thread info but not this time.

The gearbox plugs appear as 2 different numbers depending on year. I know on my TW the plug is on the bottom of the trans but earlier revisions had them on the side.
MB569372 PLUG,RR AXLE HOUSING 01.06.1997-03.04.1999 Все MAGNET
MR410053 PLUG,A/T CASE 01.05.1999-
When I search MB569372 in the USA dealers sites it gives this MB569390.
Dorman parts then gives Thread Size : M18-1.50 , So NO it appears same pitch but larger diameter.
Dorman does not list MR410053 so who knows the spec for that one.

I'm not confident I have the right info for the trans plug so I don't want to give you a bum steer. A dealer could at least get you started with a part search on your VIN, just ask them. They may even know the specs too.

Chances are MADMAGNA will know, he generally responds to most posts so time and patience is your friend. Someone out there should know.
