Ok so i've looked through the threads and I can't seem to find my answer so here is my situation.
I have a 03 TJ 3.5l Auto, lately the car has a ever so slightly rougth idle and when you try and take of slowely the car does not want to rev, even if you put your foot to the floor it will just slowely speed up like the throttle isn't responding, it is also going through heaps of fuel, I have replaced both the throttle position sensor and the idle speed control motor yet the problem still remains.
I need help I gotta drive to QLD for Christmas and I can't if the car is playing up.

Can you feel it change gears? Almost sounds like you're in limp home mode.

It changes gears but it just has trouble down low and can have trouble kicking down.

How many miles on the car, service history? filters etc etc There are a lot of questions that need to be resolved such as what air filter is the car running, how old is it, could be a MAF sensor issue which is where I would start and then go from there

Had, or having, similar issues myself.

Checked my throttle position sensor today and it was faulty. Grab a multimeter and the workshop manual. My Check Engine Light wasnt on but the TPS is not working. From what I gather the idle circuit functions (on/off in points 1 and 4 by memory) but the gradual change in resistance does not (points 3 and 4).

I'm only guessing but the delay in throttle response is the ECU using the MAF to calculate throttle position (measuring changes in volume of air) when it would normally read the TPS. Somebody with more brains and less guesses could clarify this.

Its a relatively easy thing to check... would be easier if you have two hands. I only have one and getting the stupid little metal clip off the TPS connection was loads of fun.

Cost to replace varies, Supercheap online has it for $245, Rock Auto in the states can ship it for half that. The wreckers may be an option. But check it first.
