Hey guys,

Does anyone know how hard it would be to adapt the cruise control stalk from a KJ Verada to a non cruise equipped (Legnum VR4 Nardi) steering wheel??

I saw a pic of a GTV-i equipped with a Nardi steering wheel. Notice how it has cruise control?

The Legnum steering wheels don't have cruise, but are the same wheel:

you will need the backing plate from the Nadi from the Verada, AFAIK the wheel itself is the same. You may be able to make the cut out yourself if needed, may even be a moulding inside to show you where to cut

ive seen one in a th from memory the backing was just cut away with a dremel to the correct size and bolted straight on

Thanks for the quick reply....

I was under the impression that they are a 3-piece wheel. The wheel itself like so:

The airbag assembly, and the horn cover/button.

Is the backing plate for the cruise stalk?

On the standard Magna/Verada wheels, and the Ralliart wheels, the cast alloy frame of the wheel is machined and drilled with two holes for mounting of the cruise switch lever. You'd hope that the Nardi wheel from Legnum also had these holes (possible since the Verada with Nardi-option had the cruise lever). You'd also need to check that the clock-spring in the car suits the Nardi wheel (doesn't foul on it etc) and accomodates tracks for Cruise wiring.. Check the routing of the Std Magna/Verada wiring from clock-spring through horncontacts etc, and try to replicate when you mount the Legnum wheel.

EDIT: I assumed by 'backing plate' Mal was referring the the plastic shroud that screws to the back of the wheel, it has a small cut-out to allow the cruise stalk to poke out the side near where the shroud meets the wheel. The switch lever screws into two holes in the alloy frame of the wheel.

I can see in the pic the 2 screw hols off to the right for the cruise stalk to screw into so mounting will be no issue, just have to mod the backing cover for the switch and you are all set to go

Thanks heaps guys!

Sourcing a wheel in good nick is proving easier said than done, but i'll keep you posted once it's in.

Sweet, so you put cruise into your Leggie? Was it as easy as mounting the stalk then cutting the hole out?

I take it the clock standard legnum clock spring was ok?

Hi mate,

I have done this mod twice, once for Tejas and once for myself.

TO get the cruise stick to work, you just cut out of the nardi backing bit. It's only rubber so just grab a blade or a decent pocket knife and cut away.

There might be pics somewhere in my KS thread....

Any other questions, just ask

Thanks for the replies! Any pics with the new wheels installed??

Also, can I use the existing airbag in my Verada in a nardi wheel? Shipping airbags isn't easy
