Hi all. Names Dave and I have just recently bought a 98 TF Magna. So far loving it, just needs a little bit of work done to it. Has a couple small oil leaks that I will be sorting in the next week or so depending on funds. Just went to the local wreckers and picked up an indicator/ headlight assembly because the one in my car has a short there somewhere. While there I found a 99 Magna Sports with a nice white dash cluster. By any chance would this fit and work with my 98 Executive? Please say YES as I love the look of the dash and would love to swap. Also, it had a trip computer in the dash instead of just the speed alert, will this go in mine without extra wiring? I have put aside the dash cluster, cluster surround and the trip computer incase it all fits. Can post up photo's if anyone needs to see what I am refering to. Also on the cluster surround it had a TCL buton. What is that for? Any help would be appreciated. Will post up picks of my new ride shortly. Off to work on the car now. Thanks. :facejump:

Before you go mad on modifications, check the car over first. No point having a nice white dash cluster if the drive shafts need replacing, etc. Tell us how many Km on the TF and there are plenty of experienced people here who will tell you what to check.
Welcome to the forum BTW
TCL = traction control.

The cluster will go in however the trip will not without changing the upper dash harness and also repinning the lower center plug and you will need also to tap into the ECU #2 injector and power feed to somewhere like the 02 sensor
You would also then need to do some moficications to your cruise switching if you have it, you can use the tract plug but there are a few little wiring mods to do in order for the TH loom to allow cruise to work on the TF

Welcome to amc,
The TH cluster will fit your TF with no problems but the trip computer will need extra wiring to get it to work.

Hi there, thanks for the quick replies. Forgot to mention that this is NOT my first car and being that it is for my wife and 2 kids to travel in as well, I have been making sure that it is mechanically fine before rushing to modify it. Reason I wanted to know about the dash etc is that it was sitting in a car at the wreckers going to waste and thought it would be better getting put to use. My previous car was a 1998 Nissan Stagea that my wife recently tried mating with a Holden Captiva. Unfortunately the Stagea came off second best meaning that I needed another car to drive. We were going to repair it but unfortunately my work seen fit to cut my hours 2 weeks from Christmas meaning that I am now having to strip my pride and joy and rely on the magna that I picked up cheap.
Once again, thanks for the quick replies. Will pick up the dash after christmas and leave the trip computer, sounds like a bit to much hasle.
Dave
Forgot to ask, what's the 2 round caps on the top of the dash at either end for? Were they for speakers? Is it easy to put tweeters for the stereo in there and drop the wires down through the dash?
