Hey guys,
I've been finding it hard to find body kits for the Magna TL, but i did come across a car for sale that had a very nice ralli art looking kit. Does anyone know who makes this kit?

As you know the TL isnt the greatest looker in stock form so id appreciate any help in sourcing a body kit like that one to improve the looks

That's an aftermarket body kit. The only "Ralliart" bodykit was the one that came standard on a TJ Ralliart. The only optional bodykit ever offered by Mitsubishi was the Ground Effects kit (again, for TE-TJ).
The kit you're looking at there is made by Carmate (http://www.carmate.com/display_products.php?id=478). Have a search around the forums, a couple of members have bought from them; unfortunately most have had issues with the kits.
Your only other option for a TL/TW is the factory VR-X kit. It's much more subtle than the Carmate kit, but it'd be the way to go.

Would the TJ Ralliart sideskirts and rear bumper fit the TL's?
These combined with the TL VRX front might not look too bad :)

I can't recall anyone doing a bumper transplant between a TE-TJ and a TL-TW but it's possible.
The rear bumper would fit, but you'd need to replace the tail lights and boot to TJ items as well. Side skirts should go straight on.
Your biggest issue would be the flares. Unlike the GE and VR-X kits, you must install the flares on the Ralliart kit, otherwise the kit doesn't look right (maybe someone else can explain that better than me). At the least, you'd need the rear flares, but then you'd want the front ones for consistency.
The TL-TWs are pretty curvy in their design, whereas the Ralliart has sharper lines. I think the rest of the TL-TW VR-X kit would suit better than the TJ kit.

Rear bumper will fit, but changing the tail lights and boot lid isn't really needed. It'll still fit on. The corners on the TL boot lit are more rounded than the ones on the TJ boot lid. Changing the bootlid and lights will give you more sharper lines as RV has said.
The reason why you need the flares for the ralliart kit is because on the front and rear bar, there is a protrusion that is designed to mate with the flare. The raised flare is moulded into the bars starts on the front and rear bars and continues on in the actual bolt on wheel arch flare. There's a few cars getting around on the forums here with the ralliart front bar but no flares. Just looks retarded. There's a large bit of plastic that sticks out that serves no purpose.
straight from carmate website Any goods provided to you by Carmate are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, both illegal and the reason why they rip so many people off. if ya like the kit see if ya can get someone to custom make it but steer away from carmate

Im not a big fan of that kit hey... maybe on a black car or even that car with bigger rims.... but seriously I reckon the VRX kit looked awesome. If you find a pic of old member '6ix' he's car was unbelievely sexy and he just had VRX, 20's and some lowering.

The reo bar is different between the J & L/W series plus the bar on the L/W series connects to a welded on bracket that's not present on earlier models. Whereas on the J series, part of the rear bar connects to the car via 4 holes,(not present on the L/W series), just below the boot opening.
I'd imagine the easiest way to swap bars would be to use the J series reo, remove the bracket from the rear of the L/W & drill out the holes. Not a straight swap by any definition - not undo-able, just not a 15 min job like you'd imagine it to be. :)
That aftermarket kit should be killed with fire, then explosives, then more fire. Definitely go the VR-X kit, only problem is sourcing one, they've relatively rare, you'll probably find yourself buying it in bits over time unless you want to spend a fortune at Mitsubishi. I certainly wouldn't have bought a TL if the VR-X styling didn't exist in the range.
There is a member here in SA with a blue TL that has a similar looking EVO kit. Think its danny or something like that. Try a member search and then shoot him a PM.

Yeah that was Danstar
His thread shows how dodgy the carmate kits can be but it came together nicely in the end.

I got same front bar to my tj! But i got the bar from ebay (not sure if is same suplier)! Issues:
1. the bar will fitt but not like it sopose to! I had a big gap betwen headlights and bar (around 10-15 cm)
2. it dosen't have any screws, clips, or wholes so you can put the bar on (you have to doit by yourself) or you have to find a pannel shop to fitt your bar on! But moust of them they are not touching aftermarket products, or if they do it's gonna cost you a leg and a arm! and is not 100% it will fitt propley. Plus you have to get painted too!
I was v v v v lucky, cos one of my mates works with fiberglass, so we cut the top "lip" and refibreglassed in bigger angle (in that way we took off the gap betwen headlight and bar), on side of the bar it has to go 2 screws (on each side), but that didn't work because the edges of the side of the bar has to short to put screws on, so we add more fibre glass! all this job take us 3 days, cost me a extra $200 + $100 for the paint job! SO imagine how much a pannel shop is gonna charge you! Is just a pain in the :booty:
Best way is too keep looking, and if you really want a aftermarkett kit, try to find a secondhand one! (in that way you already know it will fitt on your car too for sure)

10-15cm?! Are you sure? You could fit a 2nd headlight in on either side if the gap underneath was that large!

Ok! Mybe not 15! But for sure 10 was!
Compare the gap betwen the nose from the bonnet and bar!
