after lots of searching finally found the perfect replacement for my aging TE.
Took possession today and absolutely love it!
She is stock standard at the moment. First thing will be tint.

Yeah welcome mate. As SH00T said intake & muffler should be first on the shopping list & extractors if you want that bit more.
thanks guys.
I drive a new '08 Falcon at work and it doesn't come close to the 380 for feel, handling and build quality.
Thanks Mecha-wombat, have checked on eBay, but no genuine 380 mats
I'm gonna have to do more research on the 90mm intake mod....i'm mechanically challenged (retarded:( )

check out the extensive thread on it. We have all done it...I think. There are good gains to be had in both throttle response, power and economy from it. There are pics there on how to do it and before and after shots too. It has paid for itself many times over with me and I think most people would put a + after that!

i love these little touches of love to my 380 - i think my wife is getting a little bit jealous - i spent last 2 weekends with touch ups - lower resonator mods and last weekend - tranny oil change and sunday engine oil change...
just a little observation... 380's are very well built cars... mine has "supposedly" 4 regular services over 69,000 km ;-) the tranny oil was dirty as nothing (yeah this is due 90,000 km i know) on the oil drain plug with the magnet - it looked like a pin head ;-)... but by judging i checked the engine oil too... the drain plug on the oil pan was pristine - the color on the bolt never touched - i think the oil never changed - the filter the same - not a single mark of mechanic loves touches ;-)... i think this oil was never changed - it smelled like (burn sh...t) and very muddy - although its due in at 75,000 km i changed oil and filther ;-) just coz I love my car ;-) but overall ... very well built cars that can take lots of abusing ;-)

Yep the transmissions can take some abuse. Last week mine was pulled apart to fit the LSD & it has probably done about 28,000km with the additional torque of the Supercharger going through it (65k in total). The transmission guys said it looked in top condition inside with no hint of wear or problems. The oil was quite dirty even after a flush 20,000km ago but probably half these km's were without the transmission cooler & frequently before the cooler went on it used to overheat & hold gears etc trying to manage the extra torque. Good job Mitsubishi :)

Yeah great built cars
Just a question - when u had transmission out - dud u manage to change tranny filter and the gasket on the oil pan? I was looking at the maintenance of auto tranny and most of the cars they have these kits where u have gasket and filter... M

No didn't do any of that. I have no idea what they had to do to get to the diff but they didn't charge me any extra for gaskets etc. I'm sure they would have checked or recommended replacing filters or whatever if it needed it.

How much is the LSD? Is is voiding warranty? Cheers

LSD was quite reasonable, the modifications to make it fit a 380 was the real expensive part. Blackstar has pioneered this mod on a one off situation in Melbourne. He will have two cars with the LSD + mine. Seriously unless you have a Supercharger I wouldn't bother as it is quite a bit of money.
Warranty wise this has increased the strength of the drivetrain & besides, how would any Mitsubishi tech know it was in there unless they pulled the box apart & even then would they know what they are looking at?
