have a few problems...
1) when i take my foot off the clutch there is a slight rattle at the front right hand side of the motor. What could it be??
2) There is a slight burning smell when i give it a bit of stick. Can only smell it when i have stopped. Smells like burning matches... I used some injector cleaner and thought it might be that..??
3)I have the aircon on and occasionally feel it slip while just driving along and it makes like a chirp noise(sounds like a bird).. What is it?

2. Oil leaks? Oil starts burning when the exhaust gets hot. Have a look under the car for leaks.
3. Loose A/C drive belt.

1. Worn clutch thrust bearing.

Check belts, rocker cover seals, oil cap seal, heavy braking and getting the rotors nice and hot can give off a burning smell. I've recently done the spark plug and rocker seals on my TW and now the oil cap seal is hard and leaking.

There isn't oil anywhere and I'm not loosing any either... Stupid problems.

For the rattle, get someone to put the clutch in/out whilst you look under the bonnet.
For the smell, could be a slipping clutch especially if you smell it after giving it some stick.

Thrust bearing or input shaft bearing rattle. Normal. Ignore it. Check the oil level in the gearbox if you must fiddle. lol

Cat is releasing hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell) or hot clutch/brake material. Normal. Stop thrashing it, its a Magna, not a Silvia or Skyline!

Normal. Its the air con clutch cutting in and out. Check the belt for tension to make sure it's not slipping.

Na I don't normally worry it's just my old magna ha no issues and I'm off to melb 26th dec so wanna make sure she is gonna be fine for the trip
