Gentlemen,

Need your help again...Theres a Ralliart in my vincity however it has no sunroof, I can prolly bargain down to 29k...I have seen the sunroofs on these things and they are beautiful.

My question is how difficult to put a aftermarket sunroof in and how much would it cost...
I know the option for a Ralliart sunroof cost $1850

Is there a Mitsubishi place that I can get the option done also..

Thanks

Around $2000 to $2500 for an aftermarket Hollandia, full electric slide + tilt. Cost varies depending on how integrated you want it all to look. Some even do rolled metal edges in the roof but that's mega $$$.

yeah... im looking for aftermarket sunroof info too !

some tell me NO coz they all leak and have structural probs after a while... (mmal apparently does change roof structure and add reinforcing when putting in factory ones).

others tell me YES coz only the old ones were crap....

anyone know anything definite ??

I am havving a Hollandia put one in in december for bout $2400 with a Rain sensor this if fully intergrated slide back into the roof type that also vents, I have been told as for the structure is not affected at all by having a sunroof and less chance of a after maket leaking + u get a 3 year warranty anyway so thats cool. aftermarket is the way to go if u want my opnion and the interior controls look better that origional TJ verada style.
I will post some picks of of it when I get it in later this year.

Which Stratos model are you getting for $2400, if you don't mind me asking? That's a pretty good price if it's a 700 with rolled edges.

I'm hoping to get one in the distant future.

here is a pic of my brothers aftermarket sunroof, i reckon the inside looks better than a one from mitsubishi.

Sunroof City quoted $2500.00 for an electric tilt'n'Slide unit fully fitted. Takes 2 days to fit!

Anyone for a group buy ??

I once had a quote for $2000 if i had three cars, cheaper if i had more.

That was a fair few months ago though and i think they wanted to drum up some business for Winter.

But, if everyone wanted to get together, we may be able to save a few hundred.

Ralliart Boy,

I would be in for around the $2000 mark, maybe a bit more. We should probably try and organise this one outside of AM, given the current group buy climate ... we'd only need a couple more people ...

I've got a Hollandia and I think it's nicer than the factory model. Mine doesn't have a rain sensor though, what does a rain sensor do??

id hazard a guess and say it closes itself when it starts to rain?

lol, the sensor decides when your car needs rain, and gets the rain to pour down..... lol

if your car dosent have a factory fitted sunroof , there is 99.99% chance that you dealer is going to get one fitted for you from the same after market shops as you will get it done your self.

iF you are picking up a car without sunroof but really wnat one, its better to negotiate it with the time of purcahse and you might end up saving a good $$$.

exactly, its the same with window tinting, they get an aftermarket place to put an "ok" quality one in, and then charge you a few extra hundered for getting them to do it.

Hey yes its for the 700 model I think not sure about the rolled edges tho, just stating what I was quoted by Hollianda.

sunroof does not cause n e structural problems with third gen. TL is a different story though, as aftermarket sunroofs cannot be fitted due to a reinforced beem goin through in that excact spot.

Well i dont know where u guys are going for hollandia, but i was just at autosalon bris on the weekend and i spoke to a guy there, the tilting one will set me back 1450 fully installed and at autosalon they were offering 20% off! if only i had the money!

Ralliart Boy

$1450 ???

What was the name of the company ??

Maybe they have a authorised dealer / installer in Sydney ??

Is it a full electric tilt and slide roof ??

The after market sunroof i put in my te is a hollandia emerald 860s, same as the 700, but slides over the top of the roof, instead of inside the roof. Cost me $1200,fully installed with a full inside roof retrim, and matching fabric sliding shade, and the dude came to my house and did it.Took him about 4 hours to do the lot, best price i could find, and man i shopped around.
asked him how much he charges for the 700 fully installed, only $1750,with the retrim, and thats bloody cheap, wish ide known that before he came , would have got the 700 instead.
Everyone else i phoned were asking between $2300 and $2600.
Now this dude tells me he can offer it so cheap is cause he's the installer for Webasto, and all the other places i rang, says he's the only installer of sunroofs for Holden and Ford as well, so i cut the middle man out, and got it direct, and best of all, he's mobile, based at gold coast but comes to brisbane when needed.
His contact details : Howard, East Coast Sunroofs, 14 Penelope Dr, Cornubia 4130
Mobile- 0414 312 624 or www.sunroofs.au.bz
Only advice i can offer is dont go for the "trim ring" finish, for an extra $100 go for the full retrim.
Oh yeah, comes with the full webasto 3 year warranty, and i havent had any probs at all with leaks, and my insurance company was cool about the mod, cause they reackon it strengthens the roof even better  , cheers :)

Technically he's in Logan, I could quite literally drive a golfball and hit his house if i didn't have such a big slice.

Sounds pretty damn decent though :) Shame I'm tryin to save money at the moment

AnyWindows in Phillip, ACT, quote $2500 for Hollandia 700 sunroof.... + $300 for rainsensor.. fitted (i think its with matching trim, rather than full roof retrim).

Not cheap (pretty average from prev posts)... and u loose the magna's interior roof light.
Anyone else got any sunroof prices in ACT or Melb ??

Yes Rain sensor detects when it starts raining and automaticly close the sunroof.

I have my own rain sensor, its works like if i feel drips from rain, i push the button to close the roof. Saves $300

I'd never leave my car with the roof or windows open anyway :D

But you might leave it parked in your driveway with the roof open. Be nice if it closed at the first sign of rain ... no need for you to worry then.

Also when you are driving along, you may have it open of course (thats the point ;)) and if it starts to rain it closes 'by itself' saves you from averting concentration from the road ... you are driving after all :P

Its only 1 damn button, you play with your sterio while driving, thats worse then pushing one button on the roof.

I don't see why leave the roof open anyway while in driveway, if you want air in the car, leave your windows a little down,

What about the sunroof's you can find on eBay Motors while searching under 'diamante'?

Most of the guys are asking around $200 USD.. wouldn't this way be a cheaper option, or are they selling the 'old lemons'...?
