I notice every morning when i go into the garage there is a strong smell of fuel and the only cars in the garage are a diesel pergeot (obviously not the cause), a 2010 VW EOS so thats out of the question and my beloved magna
The smell is strongest on the left side of the car but doesn't seem to be coming from the fuel cap.
i smelt all through the engine bay when car was off and running and no smell and i checked in the lining of the boot for any smell but nothing.
Basicly i want to know what it could be because i can't find the source of the smell. It has now been lingering for around 3 days.
There is also no noticable leakage of any fluid from under the car.

There is no fuel smell inside the car at all, so i dont see the point of digging from the inside of the car out.

Under the base of your rear seat is a square access panel to the top of your fuel tank. Looking at that mightr be able to show you if there is or has been signs of a fuel leak there.

Check the fuel filter and hoses under the car for leaks. Engine compartment is worth a look too.
Any Lawn-mowers, Whipper Snippers etc in the Garage??

Fuel filter is located under the car just in front of the LHS rear wheel. See if the connections are damp.

Think its coming from around the area where mitch pointed out but still hard to tell, wish i had a way to lift my car up in my garage, would make my life so much easier.

I would be checking the fuel filler cap to see if its broken

Thinking ill wait a few days and if the smell is still in the garage ill get a service, never had a service on my car before :p
Make sure the fuel cap clicks a few times when you do it up. Mums TH developed a fuel smell, changing from 1 click to 3 or 4 each time you do up the fuel filler cap fixed it.
Been running the car in the garage at all (to listen to music etc...)? It will run rich until up to optimal temp, so if you're running it for a couple of minutes it will leave a lingering fuel smell.

I get a fuel smell when I start my TJ under the carport, but not when I park it in the open. Might just be the rich startup fueling in an enclosed space.
