Will a MITSUBISHI MAGNA TL TW SPORTS AUTO BOX. fit in a TH magna if so is it easy or strate swop?

I think this will slot in but I think you'll have to change the shifter mechanism as well as its probably a 5 speed tippy, TH was 4 speed?

TL/W is still a 4 spd unless it came from an AWD or VRX/Sports

I think there is some confusion happeneing here

When you refer to spots, are you referring to a VR, VRX or just an EL or LS

TL.W
EL,LS has 4 speed tiptronic
VR, VRX has 5sp Tiptronic

The tiptronic function is not trans function but is an ecu function

The TL,W box is not suitable to use in teh TJ and older as the output sensor has more teeth on the plate as the TL.W use the output shaft sensor to drive the speedo where as TJ and earlier use the separate drive gear to drive speedo. If you mix the tj and oler into a TL or newer or other way around the trans will go into limp mode after about 1km of driving

Being a TH, you will have a 4sp auto, if sports will be tiptronic but as stated is ECU function You can use any trans from mid TE to TJ, if oyu have hassle finding one I have several here

Hey,entertain me for a moment please, what sort of changes would be required to go from a TL/W 4 Speed to TL/TW 5 Speed.
I'm sure that this would be the biggest performance increase, bang for buck, at this stage for me, short of forcing air.:ninja:

I know a manual would be quicker again, but I've got reasons to stay auto at this stage....
