I recently installed 2 12Inch Alpine S-Type subs in my boot (facing backwards) in a single enclosed box powered by a 700W Alpine monoblock. Ive set the crossover to 50hz on my deck also.

Ive managed to reduce most of the rattle occociated with the Number plate and the plastic panel which its mounted onto by shoving rags in there and in the frame inside the boot. My car is 2000 TH

Im at the point where i cant find whats rattling - well its somewhere in the bumper area but i cant whats moving. Has anyone here used sound deadening material inside their boot, and did it manage to reduce this vibration? I know this topic is done to death of most car audio forums, but it would be nice to hear from other magna owners :)

I discovered that my boot key-latch thingo was causing some major rattling. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a quick fix for this problem as it's a moving part. Maybe one day I'll consider taking it out, but for now it stays.

Hope you get some good suggestions to this question. I'll be interested in finding out what other people have done.

i put on some cheap sound deadening material i got from jaycar on the bootlid, no rattles even from an old TR magna, instead i've got a pretty nasty rattle from the roof....

is the rattle from outside or inside the car?

There is a type of vent on the left hand side of the boot which is now the only rattle I have in my boot. I went through it and siliconed the gap between the bootlid bracing and the top skin, this stopped all bootlid rattle. Nothing else in my boot rattled.

The roof one is an easy fix too. Take out your roof lining, and then peel back the underlay, and silicone between the roof bracing and the roof. It runs straight down the middle of the roof. Once you've done that and let it set, you will elliminate roof rattles :D

The boodlid rattle is resolved now, i just need to find that vent on the left hand side as KillBilly Mentioned, which is the main offender now. The rattle inside the cabin is fine now (except the rear-view mirror which cant be stopped i dont think).

Thanks for the responses!

I never resolved the issue with the vent, as I'm not quite sure what it's purpose is...so I didnt want to seal it shut or open.

But it doesnt rattle unless the stereo is really cranked..and I dont usually have it that loud so it doesnt bother me :)

I had some rattling coming from my muffler area before I fitted my after market system, the stereo shop simple wedged in abit of wood in there while I had the car in for some other work and it killed it.
