Yeah when I installed my stereo years ago, it was a big job so I drove around without the facia on for a while, but you need the hazard switch for the indicators to work, you can remove the switch but as I remember its a real ***** of a job.
no no, i want to take it off the whole panel so i can spray it....if not i'll have to do a hardcore masking job then

Its definitely removeable. I happen to have a spare dash fascia in front of me now and it seems that the switch clips into its holder by clipping into the bottom of the holder. If you unclip it at the bottom and pull it should come free without too much hassle I would think.

Masking it is easy.

Just a quick q, does anyone know hoe to get to the lights in the heater/ ac control panel box thingo? I want to get in there to pu blue covers on my lights, cos ni have done it to the speedo etc, and like it alot, but the a/c panel is throwing it all off cos it is white.
Any ideas?

mate when u pull the facia off (stereo surround) unscrew the two screws holding the controls onto the facia look just behind and u will see two sets of twin wires going into the back of the controls up top just twist and pull and it will pop out they are very small lights not the same as ur dash ones.
good luck.brett.
