Hi all,
Have noticed that a few days ago the daughters TR 4cly when putting it in drive it grabs.
It's not a smooth change into drive. It is ok in reverse.
If you drive in reverse at half walking speed and put it in drive it grabs

Thumping into drive while rolling backwards? lol I believe most autos do that. Make sure you are not moving backwards when putting into drive.
If stationary, and it thumps into gear with a jolt, have a look at the TPS adjustment. I've noticed my V6 TS does that, and a slight tweak of the TPS position has a big effect on it. My TJ has a really soft takeup from stationary into drive or reverse, just different gearboxes I guess.

When I say rolling backwards I don't mean at 5 km I,m talking slower than walking. And I mean it GRABS just about locking the drive wheel and jolts you in the seat.
My Vt comm will go smoothly into drive from reverse if still rolling back no prob's.
Not that I do this as a habit back occasionally you might just still be rolling, and I mean JUST rolling.
Anyway it does thump in to gear/drive when sitting still

have a look at the TPS adjustment
How do you check/ adjust the TPS
Does this sound right.
Take the plug off , loosen adjustment screws, rotate the TPS anticlockwise..check that the top two plugs is not an open circuit. Rotate the plug slowly clockwise untill the plug becomes an open circuit...tighten up adjustment screws..
