This is going to sound stupid, so flame away.

I've replaced my ignition leads... but I think I stuffed up the lead ordering (firing order) on the distributor cap end of things.

The manual isnt helping.

Google isnt helping

Search here isnt helping

I'm sure I put thing back the way they came off... but the car isnt running so hot. Then I made it much worse by disconnecting a couple of leads...

Its all turned to shite. Need somebody to draw me a picture or point me in the direction of an easy to understand diagram.

AH... haha... um. Looks like the distributor cap has the numbers on it. Sheesh. Only issue after that was determining which cylinder was #1 (driver side rear).

Well, I feel about as sharp as a bowling ball after all that.

Firing order was something I knew already. Reconnecting the HT leads was where I was stumped. Found the cap was numbered - solved that hurdle. As to which cylinder was which - the internet let me down. A bit of "trial and error" sorted that though.

Ahahahaha. LOL. A couple of years ago I did the same :)
Spent hours searching on-line, going through the manual, couldn't find anything. Such a simple thing. I feel your pain....

Good to hear you got it sorted :)

Cylinder order will always start from the front(fan belt side)of the motor and work towards the rear(gearbox end). The spark plugs will never line up directly opposite. They will be slightly off. From memory the back left is number one, front left is number two, back middle is number three and so on. That is when looking at the engine from front of the car.

Here is what i mean.. Cylinder 1 is always the most front Cylinder on any engine.

I must say the manual kinda sucks as I couldn't find a picture like that. That why I didn't post back or edited my post with extra information :( But anyway glade he's got his car back together :)

Sorts me out nicely. I always thought number 1 was the front left, but that's number 4. (GROANN . . . just when you thought you knew everything. lol)

I might just go and stick some numbers on the rocker covers. Liquid paper should do it. lol

Ummm ego. Our cars are rhd and the engine is on the drivers side as is the front of the engine thus number one is on the rhs of the car me thinks lol

Glad issue is sorted however dissapointed to see pointless spam filling thread already

Question is now answered thus no need to reply from here on me thinks :)
