View Full Version : Beigh wire
Hi all,
Madmagna put a post in on how to clean the throttle body.
This was an EXELENT post. When I feel confident about which wire to bridge I will be giving it a go.
In this post there was a few questions asked about the beige wire that was to be bridged, so that you can disable the ISC and reset the idle speed.
Question. 1) What is actually mean by bridging it? To me it means to link it with some thing. I can easily make a fused wire.
Question. 2) Did anyone ever find where this wire is????

I've asked this question about 5 times over the years, and no-one has ever given an answer, so good luck!

the wire is dangling on your firewall, just behind your throttle cable, with a cap in the end. I havent owned a magna with an aus spec wiring loom in it in a long time so I'm not exactly sure what color the cap is.
By bridging it, it means to earth it, so put a clip on the end and find a nice place (neg battery terminal is an easy one der) to earth the thing.
OK thanks tufftr, on page 167 of the manual the wire I’m looking at is beige and has the black cap,,on page 167 they call it a spark advance cut terminal. On this page it talks about setting the ISC,, but they talk about bridging it to some diagnostic terminal. Anyway
Thanks for pointing it out it has made me feel that bit more confidante about doing it. I will be using a fuse and a light one at that.
Thanks

You need to bridge the terminal on the Diag Terminal, NOT the spark advance terminal after all you did specify ISC lol
I am pretty sure on my web site, www.madmagna.com there was a more indepth description there, I made a plug many years ago to bridge this terminal for setting ISC etc, it is a fused plug as well
Also not mentioned above is you should always have a low amp fuse inline when ever you bridge or earth something so as to ensure if you make a mistake you do not blow the ECU or other parts
Ok Diag Terminal I'll have to look that up in the manual, as I have no idea what that is. I when to your web site I couldn't find any more info on it. If I can't find it in the manual I'll get someone to show me. What is the advantage of turning off the ISC??? Can you just disconnect it?? And yes I will definitely be using a fuse and a light one at that.
Thanks Mal..

We're slowly getting there
Ok diag=diagnosis
I did mention that in my earlier post,,but in the manual it talks about bridging the spark advance with the diagnosis. I had a quick look on the TR and couldn't see the diag plug.
Anyway I,m sure this is a very simple thing once you have seen it done ( the wire thing that is ). And thats what I'll be doing some time in the next week.
:stoopid:Ok sorry just read manual agian and the spark advance cut terminal is use when adjusting timming.
But it also says on page 169 of manaul.
(4) If the MUT is not used, use a suitable test lead
to bridge terminals 10 and 12 in the self diagnosis
(5) Connect a suitable jumper lead to electronic .-
spark advance cut terminal.:tantrum:
