Just had a delivery dropped at the front door from rockauto.com. Includes some BKR5EGP plugs for the TJ 6G74 engine. They didn't have the pre gapped BKR5EGP-11 ones. Do these need gapping to 1.1 mm, and how do you do that without damaging the platinum alloy centre tip? Haven't put a feeler gauge in there yet, they might be close.

EDIT: Yep! A gentle probe with a feeler gauge tells me they are all on 1 mm, which is within the 1.0 to 1.1 mm recommended by Mitsu. No need to stuff around with them.

Specs state there pre gapped to .039" = 1mm. You'll be fine.

Personally I wouldn't attempt re-gaping any spark plug with a fine centre electrode. To much risk of damage

Yes, they are staying as they are. Don't want the tip to break off in use and have it bouncing around inside the cylinder. lol
