I have an '04 TL LS - stock standard. I purchased 4 years ago, and it had 80K on the odo. It now has 180K and I am getting some hints of thumping noises at the rear. The noises are not severe. My question is - about how long do the shock absorber units on the Magna last before they need to be replaced? I guess I have done about 80% of the work on long distance touring, with say 80% of that on sealed roads.:hmm:
Comments appreciated.

Well on my TW wagon I reckon the rears were shot at 60 000k's and I had the fronts done around 90000k due to being noisy. Huge difference esp in the rear when replaced. There's probably othe stuff that deteriorates with miles/age like bushes, link pins, mounts etc. that all add up to ride quality.

I just fixed a horrendous knock in my other car for literally $3 worth of stabiliser bar bushes. Originals hard as a rock and worn.

Wow. Where did you get them so cheaply?
