i have 2 amps looking at me currently really to run this mofo both having 3000w each and 1500rms each .... NOW IF THESE THINGS DONT MAKE ME GO DEAF OR SHAKE A LOT OF F**KN THINGS I WILL BE PISSED ... it was not cheap
and alot of maths went into the making of the box WHICH BASICALLY TAKES UP THE HOLEEEEEEEEEEEE BOOT

Sweet man, cant wait for pics!
Also make sure you upgrade your battery if your running that much power. Im running a XXX (Also 2000wrms) on stock system, and its slowly killing my alt and battery :( Really dont know how much longer my alt can take it...
im sorry but there is a lot of it may be or it not be there. you mentioned it wasnt cheap and i have to ask if you dont know about it why buy? paying for something you think may be good or may not be good is just a waste of time, effort, and possibly your hard earned dough. if it does come back as something crap ( and i hope for your sake it doesnt) than consider it a lessen. if ya dont know much about car audio but want to make sure you get something decent have a chat to joe aka shopping secure in the sponcers section and alothough i believe strongly in never paying for something you havnt listened to at least he might be able to provide you a direction to head into. i think joe was down near liverpool way tho i could way of the mark with that btw relistically any sub will never realy see 3000watt rms constant and im certain most will not even peak at 3000

Hearing damage isn't cool...trust me
if op has time maybe a update on how it went for him for curiositys sake
Gl causing hearing damage with a sub, wont happen :P
More likely to rupture the lining of your lungs or something of the like, which is still highly unlikely.
Picsorban!
would hurt ya lung unless ur screaming the lyrics lol, might hit the "brown" note if your unlucky lawl

tru that, but an insanely loud, tuned to perfection sound system is :)

sub bass frequencies are below audible range for humans, they arent going to flatten the hairs on your ear drum like a nice industrial 3000hz drone would. they can however cause damage to internal organs due to vibration. people have been known to have breathing problems after standing near bassy speakers at concerts and whatnot.
? SPL (sound pressure level) can surely damage your ears, no.?
yeah any loud noise can, thats why even at comps youll see the judges wearing earplugs
It can cause a level of damage, it just comes nowhere near the level that a higher freq will cause. Judges wear ear plugs because they're trying to spread a positive message to contestants. They sure as he'll don't behind the scenes :)

OK SOOOOOO BESIDES EVERYONE HATING SPL AND WHAT NOT ... firstly i have already arranged a head deck with remote as this will be most likely put into SPL comps
ANYWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
everythign in and sorted and met up with some ppl with right equipment and just my tuning the amp i managed to get out 135Db. which is pretty nice considering alot different things can make it pump more ... but for SURE a remoted operated system will be in order
Hmmm, what's the size of your sub ? 10" or 12" ??
I had 2x12" in a bandpass box that made 134.1dB in a small car, running from approx 200W RMS total. The bandpass is good for SPL and not so good for accurate musical reproduction and small cars are good for SPL too, but I'm surprised that you've got 1000+W and only hitting 135dB. That would suggest you do have some tuning room available for bigger things in the future.
Sounds like lots of fun and my fun is restricted to trying to get my Kenwood GPS working with my headunit :( hehehe.
My 10" off a few hundred watts has done 138.4dB on lab :P
From 2kW and any sub that would be made in quad coil form, I would be pretty pissed with anything short of at least 143dB, preferable 145+, got any pics of said install?
