Spent my afternoon today working on my TP, Degreased the engine, changed the water pump belt as it was cracked to the S*&T, i descovered why my idle is up and down by 100rpm, number 4 plug lead is earthing on the head near the plug at random so looks like next weekend its new leads time, now for the fun bit...
Fitted my 500w Sansui amp today mounted behind the back seat bolted to the X section thats hidden by the bash board in the boot had to remove the back seat all together to drill holes etc, ran the rca, power & remote power along the side kick boards under the drivers seat up under the consol to the cd player all went in verry well bar 1 small oversight  my dominator 250w 3 ways wont fit in the back shelf  and F&^k3d if im cutting the shelf so the speakers are in the boot untill next weekend (i work all week) ill try hunt up some 2" spacers from the local car sound stores during the week, had it running and F&^$ loud and clear im happy cant wait to finish it, heres a few snaps but it was getting late in the day so they arnt as clear as they could be, once finished you wount know its in there as the skuff board in the boot covers it perfect & you cant feel it sitting in the middle seat on your back.

Hey looking good Pete, ive got a TP and doing lots of similar things as you. The tail light tint DOES make the car look a whole lot more modern. I got my K&N oval pod filter on saturday and have to put it in one night this week.
AussieFella: can of "Night Shades" tint from superbarn / autocheap :D

Tinting can give you a defect notice so dont go too dark 2 coats is what i did, what did that oval filter cost macbdog? ive got a few prices but everyone isnt certian of the type i need, i got quoted $160 at bursons for a K&N part# NNE-2875

What's that supposed to mean?
Looks like a good setup mate.
How do you go about heat with the amp?
turbo_charade......im convinced your a wanker, i read nothing but pointless slander stereotyping this whole forum and its members. Take your matchbox car with you and go find a forum where u will fit in....then again with an attitude like yours u wont have much luck. Typical egotistical wanker.

How do you go about heat with the amp?
Checked it tonight when i got home from work quite cool, shouldnt be a problem its not flush against the back seat there is a good 4-6" of space.
Quick trip to super cheap on my lunch break and i got the speaker mounts i need, now if i can get home from work befor dark ... id finish it not like thats going to happen looks like its a job for next sunday :D
Got a vusit from my local TMU officer at work today hes a good friend but still a cop to the letter and he didnt pick up on the rear lights and centre section being tinted so id say im safe with 2 coats of nightshades he he

Haha I thought turbo_charade was a dickhead what with all his slagging of us magna drivers and being a dihatsu driver on a magna forum. But then I read his site and changed my mind - funny stuff. We need someone here keeping us honest :D
Ill let you guys know how the pod goes, its a K&N E-2875 from autobarn for $130. I got quoted $60 for the normal disposable air filter so after two services the K&N will have payed for itself... or something.
My plan is to:
1. wack it in the airbox, do some tests.
2. plug up the intake resonator, do some tests.
3. get an old airbox assembly and chop it up so all I have is the right hand side of it for a heat shield, the mounting brackets and the flange, the rest of the air filter will be open, then do some tests.
The configuration that performs the best will win - ill let you guys know how it goes.

Thanks to whoever said about tinting taillights, gonna hafta do that now. Do you need to take the taillights off completely?
PeteW
06-07-2004, 08:43 AM
yeah easyer to remove them not a hard job all u need is pliers, 10mm socket and ring spanner.
Remove the carpet liner from the rear of the boot and undo the boot latch dont go for the lights 1st remove the center part you will see one 10mm nut behind where the boot latch was remove that then its a case of using the pliers on the clips to pop out the 4 tabs holding the rest of it and lift away, this allow you to take out the lights without bending the centre part, then its just undo the 8x10mm nuts on each rear light and unclick the wire's dont be fussed the plug is keyed and can only go back in one way.
why you have it out check your globes to see if any are black in some places or glased silver if they are you may want to think about new ones.
do one coat of tint let dry for 15 min, then do the second now it may not look dark but as it drys it does get darker, i had an old rear light here i tested on 1st and 3 coats was black!
As for putting it all together just work backwards

well its sunday :) got my sound system in plus a little extra, just needed some bass so i fixed that too.
Bolting the speaker mounts to the back shelf was a F*&^ pain in the butt, had to make a template and drill the holes from inside the boot, the 6x9's poke down the speaker holes of the magna by about and inch even with the risers, as for the sub simple box setup with purple neon inside (1st bit of wank factor i belive u guys call it rice) the bass box is held inplace by 2 right angle brackets you cant notice, the neon is wired to the boot light :) fitted up my rear louver to keep the sun off my pride and joy, not the speakers u nuttas my 4yo girl, as for the sound lol can feel it as well as hear it ill probly put a breather port in the back shelf to finish it.
Now any sound buffs in the house? im getting alot of static (hiss) from my amp are there any filters i can put in line to reduce this?
Pete
oh yeah digi snaps added, sorry befor i washed it, really! what? u dont belive me lol
