Couldn't find an answer so here goes a left field question:
Are the rear doors of the sedan and wagon the same?
My Very Tired 300,000Kms+ Th Wagon needs an engine and transmission transplant (the head gasket leaks more oil than my XJ-S Jaguar - and that s a REAL problem!)
I thought I'd buy a damaged lower KMs verada and transplant the engine etc and while I'm at it get power windows, much nicer interior and climate control Air Con etc - I'm, not afraid of the work involved but as Verada wagons are fairly few and far between a sedan would do and will be cheaper but will the interior panels from a sedan fit a wagon? (the rear loadspace and 5th door are just the delivery area for during the week so don't care about them - the Jaguar is the weekend car)

The doors are the same you will just need to swap the glass over

Are you sure that the head gaskets are actually leaking, if it is oil leaks, clean your breathers and your cam seals will stop leaking and looking like it is coming from the back of the head
The body panels as far as doors etc are all swappable, but you dont need to change doors to do fast glass, you will need to change several looms and the side ones will have to come from a Wagon

I changed the cam seals, rocker cover gaskets, spark plug seals and there is no oil around the top of the engine, there is plenty running onto the exhaust headers from just below the head - I got a friend who is a very experienced mechanic to look at it and he said it was the head gasket weeping. (the front of the engine also has the same so it isn't the airflow blowing oil around the block)
Now it also has a tiny water leak in the same area - you can smell it but it hardly uses any water. - there isn't any oil in the water YET but can't last much longer.

I was expecting some loom differences - it's a pain to do but not rocket science - why are the wagon rear door harness different from the sedan?

Thanks for the help on the doors - I went to the Pickles Auction for damaged cars and I have to say that wrecked Magna and Verada cars are a Steal! It so sad to see an Australian built car sell for 50% less than a falcadoor and 75% less than a Toyota Beigeagram when it was a great car (ok so there are some issues but the others do too), - Oh well good news for me - should be able to rebuild my car for peanuts and still blow the doors off the others for performance and economy.
