Ive heard the best way is to drive with a GPS that can tell you your speed, and stick it on at the speed your driving at. I wouldnt reccomend it though, maybe if you drive and have a passenger put the needle on it would be safer, or put it on stationary and check it with the gps, if its out, adjust by how far it was out and check again.

I made sure that when i removed the needles i had marked the exact position that they were (applies to the fuel gauge specifically). I did what was mentioned earlier and put them in stationary and adjusted them after a drive around the block. I did this on a quiet sunday arvo with no traffic around and a mate who helped measure any difference against my GPS.

The one thing that stumped measurements was with the RPM gauge, Ive got it about right now but it took some time to make sure it was right as when i put it back on and turned the car over it showed my base idle at 2500rpm. he he Id like to know how to measure it exactly one day.
Anyone got idea on how?

Cheers

I've been told at normal running temp most Magnas run at about 800rpm, that's what I've set mine too.

I just recently did this in my 3rd Gen.

The Tacho i wound all the way to 9000rpm and let it drop back a few times, and if it didnt go all the way back i pushed it back slowly.
Fuel gauge i just filled the tank and took it off and put the back on, where it normally sits when full.
Temp gauge i took the needle off and let the car cool down completely and then put the arrow just under cold.
As for the speedo took the plastic cover off, put it back in the car, drove measure 60k's on my GPS and put the needle back on 60.

I decided to place my fuel needle on when the tank was at it's lowest so that when I hit the line where the E is I know that I need to fill it up really soon.

For the temp gauge I felt it better to place the needle at the normal running temp so I warmed up the car and place it in the dead centre of the temp gauge.
