Hi i am new to the forum and hope to get some help.I just bought a magna 1996 station wagon.the car is ok except that each time i put the air con on the idle speed drop to approx 550rpm and it is very difficult to take off as it seems that the clutch is slipping on the first gear. as soon as i switsh off the air con the car take off normally???? And when i stop with the gear lever on Drive the car vribate???

Welcome to the club - make sure you check out the social meets in your state!

The stopping in drive and vibrating thing is very common on these cars. You can improve it by replacing all the engine mounts but that will cost you probably at least $500 and re-occur in 6-12 months. Most people just live with it, depends if you want to spend any money.

The revs dropping could be due to the idle controller (plus they drop a bit anyway), but being hard to take off in first gear is very odd.. some others may have good opinions but for that issue I would find a good non-dealer mechanic to take a look at it. Many people on the forums in victoria use MadMagna he is full bottle with Magna knowledge and charges fairly - would be my recommendation:
