Hi guys,

My air con isnt working at idle. I am gauging this is the case by me having cold while driving. Come to the lights and it goes warm/not cold.
I have been told that it would probably be the air con thermostat.
Any thoughts and if it is the thermostat... where would it be?

Now i'm only guessing,, I would say you might be low on gas and when you are driving the compressor turns over faster and makes what little gas you have work harder and then it has a better cooling affect,,and when you stop the compressor slows right down.
I think you have already done this,,
But I'm sure if you went to a good air con place the would diagnose it for free,,and the diagnose would be correct.
I can't see how it would be the thermostat. It tells your compressor to work or stop. Most other cars I have worked on the thermostat is under the dash.
Again I'm just guessing. when you get it fixed let us know. So I can learn something

I bought of gas to refil it... but looks like it had plenty already. Didnt seem to take any in. Plus the compressor kept turning off. Would turn on for 10 seconds and then back off.

So did you go to a air con workshop to let them have a look???? You should do this it won't cost you any thing.
What car is it?????? Have you got the proper stuff to put gas in the system????
I'd just go get a Quote on whats wrong,,, So at least then you know whats wrong.

Well dad is a mechanic. He is pretty sure it is my thermostat. I was mainly looking to find out where it is located. Figured while I was asking... Id just get some other opinions.
I have a device for filling up the cylinder. Though the compressor shutting down is clearly the problem.

I have a KR Verada.

What about the relay in the black box under the dash?
