Hi all I have read the workshop manual and it has all this info in it. I just wasn't 100% with what I read.
THIS WAS FOR A 1991 TR 4 CYLINDER
What I have written here is just how a mechanical workshop did my 1991 TR, it is the same as the manual.
I have also used this myself I made up some bits the same as the mechanic.
I first get the car up to operating temp. I take it for a drive to make sure it is really warmed up.
I then take off the Negative battery terminal for about a min or so this will reset the ECU.
I then reconnect the battery terminal.
Then hold your foot flat to the floor on the Accelerator and turn the key until all ignition lights,,Hold this for 30 seconds. Don't start the car.
Turn key to off position.
Then hook up the wires as shown in pictures.
Then start car and set idle by turning idle screw. This is the one on throttle body covered by black rubber plug. Turn it clockwise will slow,,turn it anticlockwise will speed up.
When you get the idle speed you want stop engine and disconnect wires

The first picture bridge the Two top Passenger side terminals.
The second picture Earth the spark advance cutout,, Beige wire Black round cap
Use fused wires.
The wires I used just have alligator clips I soldered onto the wire 65 cents each
The red and black colours mean nothing it was just how I brought them
