hey guys, for the last few weeks my JPL'S 936e Threeway 6 x 9's speakers have been playing up, for some reason its getting distorting , i'm either thinking they are just about to die or Blow up, the rest of the speakers in my car are fine , MY 6 X 9'S are hooked up to my headunit no sub or anything, ive got a jvc dvd player,

Thanks

have you checked the connections on the the speaker and at the back of the headunit, if thats all good then they're no good anymore

If they are after market speakers you can clean the pos and neg terminal to ensure that on gunk is affecting the connectivity, if that fails you should be looking at renewing them.

Those JBL's are designed for 100wrms, you've given them about 20wrms AT MOST. If you listen to your music really really loudly, you've most likely been distorting them for some time and they've finally blown a coil.

If you have any spare speakers, hook them up and make sure they are working ok.

Back the Bass down a little..
You may have been sending a clipped signal.. If you have... then chances are the Voice coils are knacker-ed...

After some consideration with my current system i finally brought new speakers plus i will hooking them up to a 2 channel amp, can't do 4 because my headunit doesn't allow plus didn't want to get a new head unit, This is what i got for my new setup

Not a bad combo there.

Your headunit CAN run 4 channels, you just can't use the fader from front/rear. It's not the ideal setup, but it works.

With the setup you've chosen, you'll need to make sure you fade to the rears more than the fronts, otherwise it'll sound terrible having the lesser powered speakers closer to you.

They probably left the hazard switch unplugged on the centre fascia. Take that off and check its plugged back in.

Rookie mistake.

Never EVER go to jb's for installs. They are clueless. Yeah they didnt connect the hazard switch back up. 6x9's half an hour at the most. Amp with wiring kit. Hour and half at most

They could have at least used a round file in the hole they drilled in the parcel shelf, it looks awfully tight.

But with that said i wouldn't discredit all the JB's for that one persons mistake.

finally got it fixed, i swear i'm never going back to jb hi fi ever again, since what happen yesterday, aside from instalment, the new system is sick, should've done this a long time ago, apart from a buzzing noise which probably because my old head unit, way better than my old system.

No mate the buzzing noise is a ground loop. Which goes back to installation quality. Check and make sure the RCAs are down the opposite side of the car to the power cables for the amp. I doubt it knowing JBHIFI

Yup, headunit shouldn't really make a difference, it comes back to a shoddy install...

i don't really care too much about it, anyway just a pity through i thought i would've got a good install but no, learn from mistakes and move on

Have they mounted that amp to something, or is it just sitting on the floor?

Have they mounted that amp to something, or is it just sitting on the floor? Its mounted to the boot wish it was in the centre through, found more problems they screwed up up my air-conditioner aswelll, had take out the console completely out to fix it,:wtf::nuts: this has been the worst install ever, first they screw my indicators now they screw up my air con:flame::angry:, never ever going back to Jb fi fi for installing ever again, ive fixed all the errors now finally.
