Is anyone familiar with this?

I wonder if this will be ok to use inside the cabin? Or will the pong be too intense?

if it is the black spray on you talking about, no I don't think it will be too intense to have in your car, I have used it on a panel on my desk (didn't have any normal spray paint, why waste $3 on buying some when I got a few cans of the sound deadener lying around? :)) and I found once it had dried, you couldn't smell it at all.

Some thing I have heard used, mainly in trucks and buses though, is bitumen type waterproofing sheets, when I still had my Magna I meant to try it out and never got around to it.

^ ty Sir. Yeah I bought the brush on stuff. Thinking about doing the door trims and finishing off the boot. Maybe even the roof.

The only good places to use the brush on deadner is on the wheel arches and under the car itself. The stuff absolutely stinks and it very very tacky.

I wouldnt use it in the car full stop, thats what dynamat, dynapad and dynaliner is for.

It's meant to be applied to the inside of metal mudguards to absorb the noise of gravel hitting them on dirt roads. Magnas have plastic guard liners, so its not needed. Its gonna stink inside the car and do nothing audio wise.

firstly
3m body deadener is crap. if your going to use a body deadener go something nice and thick like k&h

2nd
brush on deadener is NO replacement for dynamat or similar products but it certainly does have a place in sound deadening your pride and joy, it is great to apply to the underbody and wheel wells ( behind the plastic guard clearlly) to lower road noise. inside of the car it can be used on the rear side of panels ( door cards, pillars, behind the near carboard like sides in the boot) and yes it will stink while it is drying that is why you take the items out of the car. applying brush on deadner instead of dynamat is just wasting your time and money as the differance ( and yes there will be one) will barly be audible to the humna ear if it is actually audible at all.

the guys oer at mobile electronics aus had a post recently where one of the member went round and tried it all out, sorry i cant be bothered digging the link

95ts, if you believe 3m Deadner is crap i would be steering away from K & H aswell as they are now pretty much the same company. 3m products are made in the K&H factory, and who knows soon they might uniform their products.

Motospray is an alright brand for brush on deadner, as i have used it myself.

As for the guy over at MEA that used the brush on deander, he used it on a Honda Civic/CRX that had metal guards and he was astonished at the difference it made to road and tyre noise. As said though there isnt much metal in the wheel well compared to plastic so it wont have a major affect.

K&H plant in Victoria burnt down last year, for the 12 months prior to that K&H were owned by 3M. With the K&H plant destroyed, production was severely curtailed all through last year, K&H is now manufactured alongside 3M, same product, different label.

Dont mistake 'made in the same factory' for 'the same product'. That TV you hate and that TV you love are probably made under the same roof.

Yes but with that said there is probably more chance its a very similar product if not the same then there is being completely different. Thats why i suggested a different brand/group all together.
