i remember a thread on how to read the VIN number and determine its details.
i cant seam to locate this thread anymore. does anyone know how or know where the thread is?
im looking because im after a diamante tailight replacemet, however the diamante VIN that i have doesnt work when i give it to mitsubishi. i used an online VIN reader program but the section of code that says the model of the car (ie diamante) is saying "known"

Well if you go to the Workshop manual for eg the TH series, in General you will find what each character defines here in Australia at least.

EDIT:http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder.asp just found this website, works well
as the workshop manual doesnt work for Diamantes

Well it's in the manuals so not too hard to find except for some reason in the TL version General index comes up but not the pages , not for me anyway. I'm sure somone could format it better than what I have, use the manuals.
