I have recently installed a 250LPH walbro fuel pump its been running fine for a few days but i just went to go for a drive and the car wont start, the plug that goes to the top of the fuel tank has two melted contacts and happen to be fuel pump +12v and earth, The pump came with its own plug with heavier gauge wire that plugs in inside the tank but the original plug fit so i just use that.

can someone confirm that by not using the supplied plug and wire i have burned out the plug at the top of the tank ? or do i have other issues ?

I'm using the same Walbro pump with the original wiring and connectors. No issues so far.
Also I haven't heard of any issues, or anyone that has had to upgrade the wiring. So at a guess, you have other issues. Strange, as I'm lead to believe the Walbro's are very reliable.

I have heard of another magna that was runing Walbro pump it also melted the electrical connection. Um not sure of current rating but you may need to upgrade the wire size or put a higher current plug and socket :) As it got a high resistance join and melted the connection :)

well thats good to know but im unsure on how to fix it as the plug and wiring seem to be a part of the metal plate that bolts to the top of the tank
