Hi new member here. I just bought my car and didnt realise till i got home that the drivers window goes down but when i try to wind it up, its really tight and the window goes up on a angle. I have to get some one to wind it while i slide the window up with my hands. The windows arent electric so how hard is this to fix!

Lube the felt in the channel that the glass slides in, available from car parts shops. If that doesn't help take off the door card and see what can be adjusted inside the door.

and if you don't feel comfortable with any of this, give us some idea of where you live and maybe one of the village idiots can come help you out lol

Nah, he can do it himself. How else is he going to experience the joys of keeping an old Magna on the road? lol

Revamped this thread because my drivers side window just slides up and down now... The window was dirty and tried to wind it up (manually - no elec power) and it sounded like something snapped... at first I thought the handle thread had just rounded off but the thread is fine... seems it's a mechanical issue.. took door trim off to have a look.. and to be honest.. I have no idea where to start lol any ideas on whats happened, how to fix it? thanks

Pull passenger door trim off, and see how it works when it is not broken. Look at the broken door, and work out what is wrong. Go to wreckers and collect the bits needed to fix it. It's not brain surgery or rocket science, its quite a simple set up.

sounds like you broke the cable on the regulator, just pull of the door trim as mentioned, and if the cable is broken, just buy another regulator and swap em over, would take 1hr tops.

Thanks for the responses. Did notice some cables in there so will further investigate and look to replace broken parts. Any excuse for a trip to the wreckers is a good one :) .. a chance to pick up some of those little things you've needed for years.. like proper window washer jets (cos you're finally sick of the naff LED replacement ones.. that no longer light up.. and you've lost the old ones)...
