After suffering hail damage like thousands reacently i was left with some options of repair.
Im interested in opinions on the best way to go, and if i went the way most people go.
I had two options one was paintless dent removal with a replacement roof panel and the other was bog and new paint.
I didnt like the sound of my roof panel being removed and a new one being welded in also the paintless dent removal involves lots of hammering of the paint and holes being drilled in where ever access is needed.
So i went with the good old bog and new paint option.
The car is tainted in my eyes, but it dose look nice with new paint.

Depends how bad/deep the indentations are.
My KE Verada was hail damaged about seven years ago and I got a paintless dent removal repair. It was fantastic. Car afterward was like it had never happened. However, the indentations were mild and no drilling was required. All major panels were dented tho.
I'd ask to see examples of their other jobs.

The paintless dent removal option is quite good.. We have used them at work for thousands of jobs and they've received nothing but great reviews. As long as you get it done by a reputable workshop/company.
I'm not the biggest fan of the bog work.. Have seen a few that have gone horribly wrong! But on the other hand I have also seen some that just look absolutely SCHMICK!

Who did the work? If you are not happy with the work take it back!
But you are right, before the hail damage it was a pristine car, now it is "recycled" as it were, and its not the same, so you feel bad about it. Most people feel the same after a crash repair, even though the car looks exactly the same.
I recently reworked a TJ with major hail damage, only because it worked out about $5K cheaper to get myself a TJ that way. I will always know that there are dents under the bog and fresh paint, but no one will notice and the car is mechanically perfect and still young at 111,000 km.
You are still better off than hundreds of people who had their cars written off by insurance companies and got back a fraction of the value of the car before the hail damage. Same with flood damaged cars.
Just enjoy owning and driving the car and stop worrying about its recent mishap. If you can't, sell the car and buy another.

Mate im a Paintless Dent Tech and I have now done close to 60 cars that have been hail damaged (Mercs, BMWs, 1 Rolls Royce and the everyday commos and fords etc)....these cars are from all over the country (ie, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast Canberra.). My old man has been doing PDR for 19years and worked on thousands of cars. If the tech is good (and believe me A LOT are phenomenal), you will find no drilled holes in ANY panels....there is more than ONE way to push out a dent.
Also if you see a Dent Tech removing dents using a HAMMER....keep clear. The process of PDR is not the same as a panel beater. We use rods or wires to slowly massage a dent out.
