hey all, well went for a drive through the Black spur and around Kinglake yesterday, I don't drive slow through the Spur :cool:
Anyway, started the car this morning to head off to work (I haven't been at work since the 23rd Dec) and I noticed a tinny rattle coming out of the rear muffler.

Does anyone know where to source the bolt on lukey? 3.0L TF

Also, I'd like to replace the Cat which I'd say is the original with a Magnaflow 2.5" just wondering if these will fit with the flanges from the old Cat attached?

I've had a couple of exhaust rattles on my TL which were the results of stones caught between the CAT and the CAT heat shield and the muffler heat shield and the body. Take the shields off and look for loose stones. Those roads typically have loose stones on the verge.

Good luck driving quickly down the spur, even without the police presence, I'm always stuck behind someone.

I will check that, I'm still going to look at getting the cat replaced as I'm sure it's a bit clogged after 260,000k
I never go faster than the speed limit of 80 in the spur, not really a comfy feeling going that fast, especially after seeing some of the silly bike riders trying to kill themselves overtaking.
I had to go offroad on a corner one day so the bike rider didn't get smashed by the oncoming car on a corner.

pop your head under and check all the heat shields
they like to rust ,come loose or .rattle

Muffler is rusted out, got quoted about $200 fitted to replace with a bolt on muffler, he couldn't give me the name of it but it's not lukey or redback.
Still can't find anywhere apart from RPW who sell a bolt on rear sports muffler online.
he also quoted $300 fitted for a new Stainless Steel CAT which includes fitting the existing flanges, are the $120 Magnaflow CATs on Ebay any good?
