Hi all ok yesterday I did the timing cover oil seal. Whilst doing this I had the car jacked up sitting on car stands.
I grabbed on wheel and pulled it so it full locked to the side I wanted. When I did this I heard the strut top go crunch crackle and pop.
The strut tops have had the Richard since we have Had the car,( you can hear the popping when going over bumps.),,But now you can hear sometimes a clucking noise when reversing out driveway or pulling into drive way.
Is it possible for them to move out of alignment when jacking the car??????????????

struts have a bearing and a rubber bush on top

if you have movement soon your tyres will scrub or handeling problems

front shocks as a unit are easy to pull off and inspect

to fix.. you need very good spring compressors

jacking wont throw out the wheel alingnment

Thanks for the reply.
It just seems strange as it has always had the pop,pop over some bumps in the road, but never had any clunk or clicking when coming in a driveway or going out. (Oh and it's the right hand side)
It's not the cv's I have drove the car in tight full lock circles left and right and doesn't make a sound.
Today is my last day of anual leave :(:(:(:(:(:( So I'll just take the wheels of and have a look.
