Hi,
I've been considering upgrading my '06 380 DBII for a newer one and just yesterday the rear passenger power window went bang and promptly slid down and won't work anymore.
I've removed the door trim to have a look and the cable seems to be all loose. I have previously had experience fixing the dreaded power window clips on a BMW 318i and wonder if this is similar?
upon opening up I find the cable looks fine but the window will only go about 1/2 way up before being stuck and I'm not forcing anything so it's in an unrepaired state currently.
What's the standard proceedure for a repair on these models? clips or arm assembly, cable replacement?
I was totally dreading the day when I was going to have to start messing with this stuff so if I can't get a resolution then I guess it's down to Aussie fleet sales on the weekend for her :-(

If you'd used the search function you'd have got;

and realised it is a common problem.

Yes I did use the search function and didn't find anything specific to the 380...newbie here.
BradGT: It's not the reason for an upgrade but one of them...I hate messing around and fixing stuff like this as I am pretty time poor. Normally once things like this start going then then it's something major and the car becomes a money pit.
I am checking out the other thread and again if it's a very common prob then no dramas.

standard procedure is usually find your local mitsubishi dealer drive in then jump up and down screaming 'warranty' at anyone who will listen, however im assuming if you were looking at trading it in maybe you have gone over the 130000kms?

go to a dealer tell them its a known fault...you might get lucky.

I'll ring around tomorrow but the issue of all the windows possibly failing as it's a BS part makes the risk of keeping it since it's high milage possibly not worth it. I don't mind $150-$200 but would be pretty gutted if it balloned into another window then another...

Update in case anyone is interested.
Called mitsubishi and the full regulator is $120 so cheaper than I would expect and had it in stock.
I spent an easy 1.5 hours all up from start to finish and window is now working perfectly. I was expecting a horror story like the BMW but to mitsubishi's credit the whole thing was pretty logical unlike the german design.
Original part was Korean made and looked very average indeed, new part looks a whole lot better.
So the 380 lives to fight another day.
