Easiest way is to source a set of verada pockets and speaker mounts. From memory they fit a 6- 6.5" speaker fine.

hi
how do you make custom speaker pods for the front doors in a 94 model magna and the part the speaker screws to that sits in the speaker hole.
is it possible to make the part that sits in the speaker hole in the front doors or is it better to get factory mitsubishi pods out a verada if possible
look forward to a reply as soon as someone gets this

hi
how do you make homemade speaker pods that bolt in the large square hole in the front doors and allows 6 inch speakers to bolt to them??
anyone got any pictures

The verada speaker pods in the front doors also includes a spacer/mounting adaptor. You could use these without having to use the whole verada speaker pod and trim. These would enable you to mount 6" or 6.5" speakers easily, they just clip into those holes around the square hole in the metal door frame then you screw the speaker into the plastic spacer.
I would just go down to a upullit, find a verada that still has the speaker pods, pull of the trim of the door and take the spacers.

Or if you are lazy like me, just cut the hole in the trim itself. I had a set of 6" speakers and they sat nice and flush with the trim, use the speaker cover/grille that comes with them. Looked alright.
Otherwise go the verada pod route (or even autobarn sell the pods premade for $50 a pair).
