Hey guys I'm new to AMC

I've recently purchased myself a 1998 KF Verada Xi 3.5l

It came with a stock 10-stacker CD player located in the boot. It works fine with no dramas. However i have a stock HU.

I plan on getting a completely new sound system for the car, and i am just wondering if there are any aftermarket double DIN head units that are compatible with 10 stacker CD players?

Not sure if this is necessary, but i also plan on replacing the stock 6"s and 6"9s in the car, along with getting a Sub and Amp.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think you can adapt your stacker to a new H/U
I had this problem of not getting enough quality from MP3's to play in the car.
So I my solution was to convert my CD's to Wave files, and play them on my after-market deck. One 8 gig stick will replace your stacker without any quality loss.
I have a 32 gig stick which hold 35 Albums CD quality files.
I have noticed some head-units wont play .wave and have very varied amount of read times of USB sticks.

As for best sound Quality, dont get or power your 6x9's if you run a sub, spend that (6x9) money on better fronts, Split speakers are highly recommended.
Mounting options include, Verada sail tweeter pods (they go where the black plastic triangle is front of your door glass), these look good but can lower the sound stage (should sound like it comes from the windscreen). And tends to be over bright, especially with cheap metal tweeters).

Dash mounts - Raised or windscreen reflected in those little dash holes, this is good spot, but keep sun damage in mind.

Other mounting for splits (to name a few) are a bit adventourous (read - time-consuming or expensive) pillar mounts (good staging height but very close to the ear compared to the door mounted mid) and I have heard of rear veiw mirror mounted tweeters reflected off the windscreen, this aparently sounds excellent.

Good speaker wire, and thicker for mids and woofers is advised. Skimping here will affect the performance.
Sound deadening is also underated, and it is also a way to improve the sound later on if the budget is a bit tight ATM.

There is a audio install Pics only thread, which could be more utilised.
And use the search function. If you think of something, its probably been posted at least three times here on AMC.
