what are signs of a worn clutch?? I drive a 2004 tl....
It seems ok normally only the last 2 days i was driving it, slowed down because the cars in front locked it up, i pulled to the left and went to quickly drop the clutch and take off round the corner and it just didnt go anywhere. I was in 2nd gear, changed to third gear and same... than all of a sudden burning clutch smell...
now everytime i go to drive it i occasionally feel it struggle for power and get a worn clutch smell.....
What could be the problem????? How do i fix it... Car is still under warranty from caryard so need to know exactly to tell them is the problem so they can fix it...

if you shift up a gear or two and give it a boot and it doesnt go anywhere, just builds revs, its a worn clutch.

i'd tell them exactly what you've told us and tell them to change the clutch. If it's under warranty, i'd let them do the problem solving. Then, when the car is back and (god forbid) its not fixed tell them you want an independent mechanic to check it over

Also be very careful, if a Magna flywheel gets too much heat in it, will crack, then eventually split in 3
Best way to fix is a 380 flywheel, clutch kit etc
if you end not not being covered by warranty, I can supply yo with a kit so to speak of that you can have installed

I'd take it real easy and don't load the car up much ( nurse it ) until you get it replaced. Sounds like it's cooked and slipping bad. The clutch disc could even be worn out down to the rivets and be chewing up the flywheel.
Generally hard to get warranty on clutches even when you purchase a brand new vehicle unless it can be proved as mechanical failure/defect. Wear and tear item just like brake pads.
If they don't replace it hopefully they'll contribute something towards a new one. You can only try, either way it's not good.

try to get them to do the pressure plate as well. worth doing now, instead of a couple years down the track

How many Km has the car done? If its anywhere near 200,000 then the clutch giving up is normal wear and tear and the dealer has no obligation to fix, sorry to say. Just like brakes, battery and tyres really.
I know the car is only 6 years old, but I have seen one advertised with over 400,000 km on it. Ex Taxi.
