I went into Bowers in carrington today to price getting my car dropped onto new springs and shocks. the price was $800 but im not sure on the shock or spring brands or types.
Is that about right?
Also, If anyone can recomend a good place in Newcastle to get the above done... please speak up.

thats pretty good i would imagine if it includes fitting, the springs should be about 140 and the shocks about 80 odd maybe cheaper for shocks. very good if its fitted, ifnot its not hard to do yourself if u want to save or its not provided

RPW pricelist I have says $280-350 (Lovells-Kmac) for 4 springs & $470-760 for 4 shocks (kyb-koni) so depending on the brands, not tooo bad. Definately find out brands & specs 1st but! :)

yeah thats supplied and fitted.
I imagine the springs are Lovels and the shocks monroes. thats what most of their signage is.
When I got my car serviced a while back the guy said my shocks were close to stuffed. I imagine jumping up a gutter at about 40km/h REALY didnt help them. So its not like im just tossing them in for the hell of it, dropping the car is realy nesicary cause it looks a tad pants atm... just too high.
Probably should get the brakes done too.

Hey Delphia,
I think the springs that Bowers quoted you for are Kings, i went there for a quote on mine and the said that they were Kings springs. How long have you been a Newcastle Magna Owner? What sort of ride do you have??

Hey Delphia,
If you want a second quote to compare with, phone Brendan at Jax at Green Hills, I'm not sure on his price but tell him Nafe sent you and he should do you a deal,He's a nice bloke and knows what he's talkin about, Talk to Brendan tho,

Are you doing all four corners for that price?
As an indication I had Pedders fit heavy duty low springs and sports-ryder shocks, 4-wheel alignment for $590 for rears only - supplied and fitted.

Bowers tend to be a bit expensive - you should also try Monacco Performance in Kotara - if you are getting King Springs, he is the only place to go to in Newcastle as he is the exclusive dealer for them...
The bloke to talk to is Geoff Thomas - pretty good guy, he has done magnas before so knows how to do a good job.
There are a few Newcastle people here :)
