Silly question but I will go on.
Is there a way to clean out or something the window washer jets as mine are just treacling out yet theres plenty of water in there aswell as the window washer detergent.

any help much appreciated.

Cheers

pull em off and use a compressor to blast the crap out of em, if ya dont have one, just use a hose :p

got it booked in today to get the windows tinted through the dealer so will ask if they can do it for me saving me the hassles. If they dont end up doing it I will try compressed air through it tonight.

Mine's the same, with the driver side one - squirts out weaker than passenger side, but as I don't use the washer function much (just the wipers in rain, etc) it doesn't bother me yet.

They're only a $20 part- wouldn't it be cheaper to replace it, rather than have the service dept try to fix it?

just use a sewing needle to clean them out

Probably does only need a clean out. gonna give some compressed air through it a try this weekend.

they look alright at the ends i think it may be blocked in the hose somewhere

I had the same problem with mine about 18 months ago. The passenger side was worse than the driver's side and gradually reduced to a dribble of water when activating the washer jets. Because the car was under warranty at the time, I just took it in to the local dealer and they just replaced the washer jets free of charge. They said it was easier and cheaper to just replace them than try to clean them out. 18 months later they are working perfectly.

they have a valve inside them, likely that it is blocked with something. I would say its best to replace considering how inexpensive they are from mitsu parts

From my experience, with my KS and then yesteday with my KW, is that the water in the bottle can go off (may be due to heat and the detergent they use) and develop mucous type things. I had to take to bottle out and rinse it to get the flow happening again. Chances are, some of that stuff made its way to the jets.

What's a good washer fluid to use? I'd rather not risk clogging mine up in the first place, I just used standard fluid from Supercheap in my last car but that did jets and not a mist.

I tend to use 'barrs bugs" - and I buy the concentrate bottles - not the pre-mix stuff.
The slime etc that can develop in the washer reservoir - I've had that from time to time myself. Not sure if buying pre-mix washer fluid would limit that happening or not. I try to keep a bottle of the Barrs Bugs concentrate under the bonnet somewhere - battery box in magna 3rd Gen works well. Every top-up at the servo, the additive is "right there" to use.

I keep mine in the same place.

The slime builds up from the fluid in the reservoir not being used regularly - it remains stagnant and the chemicals collect at the filter before the pump and clog it up. Daily use of your washers will prevent this.

I use white vinegar. 2L for about a $1 and I just add a little to the washer bottle water.

Does it affect the paint around the nozzles. I fine some additives dribble/splash around the nozzle and stain the paint

I have used it for a few months now and have not noticed any affect/damage to the surrounding paint. I cannot remember how much I added to the water, but it was perhaps 1 cup at the most.

i did have an issue with mine a couple years ago , the passenger side was ok , but the drivers side barely sprayed to the glass...
i just pulled the rubber hose off , stuck the air blower in it , and it blew a pile of crap out of the nozzle...mainly polish i think.

everytime i go and get an oil filter or something from the dealer , i grab a couple sachets of the windscreen washer additive, they are only a Dollar each and they normally just have them sitting on the counter..
never had a problem since..
