I want to replace the wipers on my magna, not just the rubber, but not the whole arm (if i can get away with it) Now the old ones have a bit of metal on the side which slides into a hole on the arm, like this:

however the replacement ones ive seen dont have it sticking out the side, its in the middle, like this:

||---||

and apparently they are supposed to just clip on to the arm...

Do i need new wiper arms? Are there different types of wiper replacements? or will i need to do some modifying? I hope my illustrations helped

i put new wiper blades on without replacing the arms etc... blades... like the part that clips onto the arms that holds the blades. got silicone blades too :D

was easy... just went and bought them from... damn i cant remember where from. maybe supercheap... but yeah. went on fine, just clipped on

I think its better to replace just the rubber aprt isnt it? i mean do you need to replace the whole arm? :confused:

theres 3 parts, ill name them the arm, the head and the rubber

Usually you need just to replace the rubber, however the head has all these little arms that are designed to keep the rubber in contact with the glass evenly. With my wipers the centre of the blade just doesnt press down evenly to wipe the water away, so i need to replace the head so then it'll keep the rubber in contact with the glass.
