Hi all,
I have a TR 4 cyl.
I have machined all 4 rotors and put new pads.
When doing the same thing on other cars I just let the pads bed in by them self, doesn't take that long.

Well anyway I put average pads I brought from Sprint Autos. Most people replied saying wait for them to bed in.
Well I waited about 3 weeks car was driven every day. This didn't work.
I when to a brake mechanic He said the pads are shit and he only uses Bendix.

Sprints said bring the pads back and we will swap them. I swapped them for Bendix.

But they still don't lock if you bang them on HARD.

I CAN'T see any leaks.
I have flushed and bled the brakes.
The booster seems to be working.

If in an Emergence you bang the brakes on HARD shouldn't the front brakes lock???????????????????
For just driving normal the brakes are ok,,,,But in an Emergence I don't think they're much chop!!!!
WHAT else could be going on here??????????????????
Thanks.........................................

a guess

the master cyl cups are bypassing internally

you should have a firm pedal

if a manual the brake pedal should be almost level with the clutch pedal height wise

hanks for the reply.
I had thought of that,, But the reason I don't think that it is the master cyl,,is because I use to have an old work runabout, and when the master cyl cups were not sealing fully in the bore you could hold your foot on the brake pedal and it would slowly but surely sink to the floor.

But it seems like the only thing it can be is Master cyl or just simply there is still air in the system, But I did give it some curry when bleeding it. I flushed it with almost 2 bottles of fluid. I never let the master run dry, and I made sure the plastic hose was submerged in fluid.

I suppose all I can do is buy a kit for the master and do it.
I don't think a kit for it would be dear, maybe $15.
It's just pulling it all apart and buying more brake fluid.

Any ideas on checking the power booster. The only test I do is Car off pump pedal, leave foot on pedal and start car... The pedal should soften up and drop slightly.

Thanks Magna Buff
