I was just about to get a Viper 790 Paging alarm for my 2002 Magna VRX, but the guys at the car shop said because it has a factory alarm it won't work! :(

Has anyone got any info on the factory alarm on the magna's? I have the one with remote boot release, and the alarm is jus the horn.

i didnt bother arguing with ripping the factory one out!!
knowing stupid mitsubishi it would take 5 weeks to rip it out and cause the engine to **** up?????somehow............

mitsubishi are so stupid!!!!!!!!!!
i dont think they use ANY common sence!!

anyway
you still dont have to use the factory keypad!
you dont need it!!
its all programed in the other keypad!
well it is in mine!!
i just keep both anyway,
good point im gonna take my factory one off, i dont need it!!

with mine you can programe it to do whatever
(open boot, lock driver door, lock all doors, boot)

so you only need the one keypad

All solved, new alarm installed :)

I ended up getting the Viper Responder Paging Unit, it's very good :)
It's a two way paging system, and had no probs overriding the existing alarm/central locking system.
