the reason I ask is that, if so, I might be able to get some cheap front calipers there from eg, JC Whitney.

I want to put AWD front brakes on my TW FWD magna.

thoughts, anyone?

do any US Galant brake parts fit our cars?

If you want a set of AWD front brakes & rotors your better off getting them from Madmagna.

Cheers

yeh, I know, but I might have missed out on the set he has right now. Of course I could be patient and wait until Mal has some more come in...

I've just been looking up Diamante disc rotor prices on JC Whitney in the US, and it looks very intriguing, $24, $42, etc, v cheap.

The US Galant was our 380 for a few years so the front discs and calipers are a better bolt on upgrade for magnas than the awd and the US prices are pretty cheap.
Not sure of the years though , might be 2003-2006 ?? anyone want to confirm ?

Although their calipers might be very cheap it will cost a heap to get them sent over because their so heavy! I think it would be a lot easier to buy local..

There's a lot of shite on eBay (surprise surprise). I've seen plenty of cheap brake parts available, but I'd be sticking to the popular name-brands. I suspect by the time you add shipping, you'd be better off getting them locally through Mits-Fix.

To answer your question though, the third-gen Magna was never sold in America in the AWD variant, according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Diamante#Diamantes_in_the_U.S.).

There are brake upgrades available from RPW in WA. They sell many parts that are specifically designed for Magna. Also brakes from AWD are identical to that of Magna Ralliart. Also AFAIK there are upgrades available from K-Sport.

AFAIK, only the front is the same. The rears have different hat height or something like that.

Hi mate,
First of all, welcome to AMC

You may want to do a search on RPW here on AMC, there are a lot who will warn you right away from that place, I ahve personally had bad dealings with them as have many. And the cost of the brake conversion they offer is somewhat interesting as well :)

I would recommend talking to Mal and getting yourself the 380 Brake Packages he has available from time to time.

I myself got them not too long ago and I must say they are a welcome upgrade from the originals, nothing like the big K Sport style upgrades but definitely a noticeable difference.

What RPW offer in terms of braking doesn't cater to my needs personally. They offer factory-style upgrades but not the big-brake like say Brembo or K-Sport. I mentioned them since I knew of them. Sorry for a bad suggestion :) I didn't know that they are a bit of a pain in the neck.

I've been to Pedders and asked them to put in a front sway bar. They had the right item apparently and it ended up not clearing the tailshaft. They are making me a custom one now. After they put it back together the front end now creaks and rattles. I'll be calling them to tell them about my annoyance.
