Hey guys

My TJ VRX i recently changed headunit and that top vent part that pops out to gain access to screws won't sit back in properly on the right hand side, i think the clip is broken , its really annoying me at its hanging out and i look at it everytime i get in the car!

I know that side has a cable attached for the fresh air/cycling air control, can this is taken out easy? im looking at getting one from a wrecker and replacing it but wondering how that cable is released in order to change it.

Thanks in advance

just use some pointy nose pliers and pull it off the lug..

you might want to hit madmagna up for a replacement , to my knowledge you need a special tool to remove it .
my guess is that when you go to the wreckers to find another one your just going to break the same clip

These are a PITA to take off if they have NEVER been taken off a car - the clips are very strong.

Just gotta make sure that after you have taken off the side cable near the drivers side footwell, and you go to pull it off, pull from the very bottom left and right corners (near where the clips are). This will reduce your chance of breaking any clips.

For really tight ones, I use a rag and put my fingers just inside the very bottom vent on each corner and pull.
