Anyone know if 3rd Gen bumpers will fit a 2nd gen?
by dimensions, 3rd is 10mm wider, so shouldnt be hard to fit yeah? just cut and shut?
thoughts?

Not sure, however, the 10mm you are mentioning is from the dimesions which includes mirrors. Actual body width differences is not known.

It has been done before, I've seen a pic or 2 of one, no idea where though lol. But if I remember correctly - it looked crap.

I am not sure Mike, but I know that for instance TuffTR modified 3rd Gen RA side skirts to suit 2nd gen...
What exactly are you after?
If you ring SSS Autos in Perth they have new plastic bumpers I believe still for magna.... they operate online as OZIPARTS? cant remember now.
They have a very big increase in price, but if you can talk the talk you can bargain the hell outta the price.
My 2nd gen bumper cost me $66 new in packaging... the website listed it like $200 or something....
Ask for COST 5 price.
I have a damaged 3rd gen bumper I might try if I take the TR bumper off. Sitting a cefeiro bumper (from a fiberglass bodykit) in front of it it looked like the cefiro one would look ok if it could be fitted, squareish with rounded corners, but would look a bit crappy without an intercooler or something behind it, and im not as keen on filling gaps up with silver mesh as I used to be.

They slot into the front no worries, they dont line up tough, never tried to see if headlights would fit.
but yeah the front bar 100% goes in.
Like i said though, no idea if it lines up with anything, go to your local wreckers and test it out

What are the mouldings of and what are they for?

cefeiro bumper I was fixing for a friend, which he then sold so I dont have it anymore. It was a bit flatter across the front than the 2nd gen bumper.

3rd gen bumper. TUFTR says it should go in as above. It looks wider because the side pieces are stretched outwards over the 2nd gen bumper, but a bit of imagination or photoshopping and they will be back where they should be.

I thought someone here has said in the past that they won't, as the middle of the 3rd gen sticks out a lot further? ie. you'd have a gap between bumper and grille?

Ah ok, thought it may have been a bumper mould for fiberglassing and got all excited.

I'd expect this to be the case, the 2nd gen bumpers sit fairly flush at the front, whereas the 3rd gen are much more curvy. Even if the dimensions line up, it will look like poo.
