Hey, im a new member here and last year i bought a 1997 Verada Wagon when i got my P's. I have done a few things to the car, mostly interior changes however i am looking to improve/change the exhaust system of the car.

I am not looking for more power out of the car however i am hoping for the car to produce a note. I am unsure wether to change everything from the cat back or just install a new muffler and tip.

Im looking for just a deep note when starting the car and when cruising at say 2000 revs. The car is an auto and i hear that they can make a drone sometimes when exhausts are installed???

So yeah, if you guys could help and suggest if i need a cat back or just put in a new muffler.

hi and welcome to the club, where abouts in nsw are you. You can grab your self a sports/vrx/ rallart muffler for around $250 or go a catback redback system for about $350-$450. the redback systems are a little louder

With regards to the mufflers, is there much difference between a vrx or a ralliart muffler to a muffler installed at a shop? My mate just got a new muffler put on his car to give it a note, he payed $170 with a tip and the guy at the shop said it would be similar for my car. If there is little/no difference between the shops muffler and a vrx or a ralliart muffler then i would preffer to go the cheaper.

I dont want a system that makes the car sound ricey like the hundreds or charades or civics that drive around my area. I understand that Verada's have a decent sized piping on them already and wonder if i go any bigger say to 3" that it would be to loud.

No point going 3" unless it's turboed. That sounds like a decent price for a muffler installed. Get that done first and see how you like it. I've got a lukey box installed on mine, not too loud. Send madmagna a pm he might have a secondhand one for sale
