Course you can, what tools do you have?
have the right tools, it's a 20 minute job
Have the wrong tools, and it's an hour + job.

a few sockets
a few spanners

right.
you'll need a 1/2" breaker bar to re-tension the tensioner pulley for the power steering belt.
undoing the A/C belt is best done with a 14mm spanner for the pulley nut, and a 14mm socket on a 12" extension to undo the tensioner.
you'll need to take the AC belt off first to get to the power steering one.

The advice about is right. It's a pretty straight forward job, should take you about 30min. Only need basic skills for this job.

can not see why you need a 1/2 inch breaker bar to tension the belt unless you are trying to snap the belt, crankshaft and power steering pump

You can do the job with a 3/8th drive or even a 1/4 drive if it is good when it comes to doing it all up

You will need to remove the side splash guard, 12mm bolts x 2 and a couple scrivets
Remove the 14mm nut that holds on the tensioner adjuster, use the 3/8 bar for this, remove the threaded bolt all together to get out of the way
Remove the 14mm bolt above that holds the actual tensioner on and remove the tensioner, belt will now hang loose

Loosen the alt tensioner bolt, agian breaker bar should suffice, back off the tensioner and get the alt belt out of the way

Remove the ps belt, install new one and reverse of all of the above

Be sure you do not overtighten either the belts or the bolts, this is where the 1/2" breaker bar can do a lot of damage. A breaker bar should not be used anywhere on a car except to loosen off parts.

The belts are avail in my store, you can get both belts for a similar price to a single belt if you want to do both as is not a bad idea while it is all off

My mistake, meant 1/2" ratchet.

No worries, even then a 1/2" is a little excessive for tightening a swinging tensioner, to the OP, please make sure you follow the guedelines in the manual, just like anything, you over do it and more damage will be done.

Is really a matter of common sense with these things, feel the belt prior, do the new one up similar given that it is not slipping now so the new one will need to be similar, or get yourself a belt tension tool like I have to be 100% but is an expensive little gadget to use once off

Did mine the other month for the first time, followed the Magna/Verada service manual to a T and it turned out perfect :) Car drives surprisingly nicer now, job took me about 1.5-2 hours for both belts.

Well after a read of the workshop manual it seems pretty straight forward. I don't have any jacks/stands etc though.

make sure you don't work under the car, or any car, if it is just up on a jack! Jack stands are a completely different thing and are much safer. Cars fall off jacks, killing people, all the time.

Ya gotta stay safe!

spare wheel is a good thing to put under the car, right where the jack goes, or just behind it. i normally put a couple big bits of wood on it too, making it safe and high enough. i feel safer under that than with jack stands.

Ran into a Lube Mobile mechanic in the carpark at work today. He was working on another car there. Just mentioned in passing that I needed the power steering belt replaced and how much it would be. He said $53 for labour and about $40 for the part. Said he'd be back to finish the other car and could do it then. I figure for less than $100, the convenience is WELL worth it. And it'll be done tomorrow.

:D

Good to see you getting it done, think I need to increase my prices as I charge $30 labour and $20 for the belt lol
