Hi guys
Im one of those annoying people who drive with my lights on constantly during the day. The downside of this (for me) is that the Multi function display is constantly dimmed and you have to press the "bright" button each time i start the car. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to fix this?
Thanks!

One of the connectors/wires on the back is a dimmer instruction.
One way to get around this is Interfere with the dimmer wire and put in a manual switch, Open (off) for daytime and Closed (On/connected) for night time.
But this would probaly more hassle than the dimming in the daytime thing, but it would work with the Hifi, not sure about the MFD.
Edit:
I think the MFD gets it dimming instruction from the H/U but I am not 100% sure.

easy fix , turn your lights off..
you gain 2 things then...your MCD will be illuminated normally and you won't be annoying :)

"Using our CB radios, we measured the distance how far back on the road one of us could see the other - with and without headlights on - during daylight hours"
"Even at 5Km we could see the other car easily, but without headlights that distance dropped to only a few hundred metres"

I read that lights on during the day can reduce your chances of having a accident by 24%.
My wife always does, and I do mostly.
Canadian cars must have DLR (daytime running lights). But the are low voltage as to not load up your alternator, and save fuel, as opposed to Low Beams.
So get bright LED DRL's that turn on while driving, that will fix your diming issue, save fuel, be less annoying and be safer.
Philips have just released some like the HSV's have, I am going to see if I can source them and do a Group Buy.

if you drive with your fog lights on in the day also then were twins lol i love driving with my lights on, i on a few occasions have nearly had cars hit me as they change lanes not seeing you. Its when you get to the next traffic lights and the person puts their window and says i wouldn't have seen you if you didn't have your lights on getting my attention. In nsw we have signs on some roads that actually say 'be safe, be seen turn your head lights on.' oh about the dimness of the screen, yea i just hit the bright button, its no biggy :)

I would be real careful.
Fog lights are a different matter, they have become a magnet for road rage.
Also happens to attract a $120 dollar fine for being a wanker.

the magna fog lights arnt blinding like commodore ones. couldnt you argue that magna fog lights arnt actually fog lights but DRL's, because Fog lights need to be yellow to be effective in FOG

A drl's are a led lighting with no more current draw of 5A. Which is about 20W, so your fog light argument is null and voided :P Fog lights are to be use in poor weather conditions, so an example is heavy rain or fog :) Fog lights are there to help out low beams. :rtfm:

LED lights turn on automatically at the start of the engine, and turn off when parking lights are turned on. The fog lights aren't wired like this :) So you would need to rewire them.
I'd be interested in the Philps kits as well SH00T, because it look good :)

Thats only cause your car is low as **** and in direct view of the beam cause of your stupidly low car. Get some window tint on that rear screen you'll have no drama's. Also get out of the 380 thread. Kthxbai

No the Euros will have Daylight running lights on during the day. I really hate all the Wayne Kerrs that drive around with the fog lights on all the time. Do it at night time in NSW and you may get on the wrong side of the local cops who frown on wayne and all his relatives who get booked for lights that dazzle or something similar. Lights on during the day on the open road is a great idea and as previously stated helps you see oncoming traffic well in advance of a those without lights on.

I personally, don't have foggies, nor condone the ilegal use of them.
The philips kits I have shown favour to, have the ability to sense headlights/parkers on and will not aid/turn on at night.
I hope we all suffer less Wayne's.
BTW, some euro car manuf's will run voltage reduced headlights as DRL's.
